The Quest M3s is a lovely stainless steel drum roaster. It looks a lot like a miniature commercial machine, replete with sightglass and bean trier, but with a footprint of a kitchen appliance. Heat is delivered by two electric heating coils straddling the drum, and along with airflow, are manually adjusted.

The Quest M3s is very quiet and runs on standard US voltage (120v, 60 hertz). You'll be impressed with the ease, convenience, and consistency that you can achieve roasting coffee with this electric roaster. The ideal batch size is 120 grams which are a rather standard load for a modern electric Probat roaster.
The Quest M6 Coffee Roaster falls in-between the current categories of small-scale coffee roasters - it's essentially a miniature shop roaster scaled down to sample roaster size but, with twice the capacity of the M3s, you can also roast several pounds in a short amount of time. I've roasted on a Behmor, Hottop, Heat Gun/Bread Machine, Quest M3 & currently have a TJ-066. While the Hottop was a fantastic machine, the Quest ran circles around it and is a very capable roaster that will not limit you in many ways for a long time. Edit: I should say I bought my M3 (lightly) used and put almost 6 years of use on it.
So, while I was searching for other offerings I came across another roaster, namely the QUEST M3 roaster, which is also made in Taiwan. This roaster started to capture some attention, and there has been a recent discussion about it in the CoffeeGeek forums.

This low cost Digital Thermometer with a thermocouple wire probe is a simple and effective way to monitor temperatures in a roaster.
